Trump found guilty on 34 felony business-records counts

After a jury trial, Donald Trump was found guilty on May 30, 2024, of 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Prosecutors argued the records concealed reimbursements for the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels shortly before the 2016 election. The verdict concerned falsified business records; it did not adjudicate whether Daniels’ alleged sexual encounter with Trump occurred. Trump denied wrongdoing.
